CORIOscan Pro: the start of the next generation of DTV peripherals from Vine Micros

Vine Micros launch their professional quality Scan Converter range for PC, Apple Macintosh and Workstations.

Vine Micros Ltd, the specialists in Desktop Video in the UK, have just launched their latest Scan Convertor the CORIOscan Pro. The CORIOscan Pro marks the start of Vine's next generation of premium DTV peripherals: the CORIO range. The launch of this new range coincides with the celebrating of Vine Micros' 10 years in the PC to Video conversion field.

The CORIOscan Pro incorporates a host of features for the discerning user. For the corporate user it becomes a powerful assistant for Presentations, Conferences and Exhibitions. For the video professional it provides quality results, with various outputs, for video productions etc.

The CORIOscan Pro comes in three versions. A desktop version for corporate use, and both a Single Rackmount and a Double Rackmount version, incorporating two CORIOscan Pro units, for professional/studio use. All versions support resolutions of up to 1600x1200 with no line dropping, and at horizontal scan rates of up to 100kHz. Suitable for PC, Apple Macintosh and Workstation computers, the units are NTSC and PAL switchable, with Composite Video, S-Video, RGB, YUV and composite or separate syncs, making it compatible with a vast range of equipment.

One unique feature of the CORIOscan Pro is the AutoSet facility. This automatically positions and sizes the computer resolution on to the video display. This setting is then saved in non-volatile memory and is recalled whenever this resolution is used again. Manual adjustment of the display setting is also available via various control methods.

"The uses of computer to video converters are almost endless," comments Amanda Mallett, Sales & Marketing Director of Vine Micros, "Training sessions could be enhanced with multimedia presentations via a standard TV system in the training room; computer based presentations could be used for point of sale or information distribution at exhibitions, seminars or in public areas; customers could even be given a video cassette of graphic designs for viewing in their own home."

Powerful though it may be, ease of use of the CORIOscan Pro has not been overlooked. Controllable via the built in LCD display, Remote Control, Windows software and RS232 control, all the features can be accessed at the touch of a button. In addition the CORIOscan Pro remote control can act as a mouse to enable the computer to be controlled from a distance within presentations etc. Other features include user adjustable Overscan and Underscan settings, 2x Zoom and Panning, and high level flicker reduction control.

Vine are also bundling Scala MM100 multimedia software with the CORIO range, greatly enhancing the presentation and multimedia potential.

Pricing for the PC versions of the CORIOscan Pro are £699.95 for the Desktop, £749.95 for the Single Rackmount, and £1449.95 for the Double Rackmount unit.

All prices include VAT, mains adaptor, with SCALA MM100 software bundled free. For use with other computers, Apple Macintosh and Workstation Input packs can be purchased separately. P.O.A.
