CORIOscan ProREVIEW UNIT - MEDIA INFORMATION "A Professional Level Scan Convertor for the PC, Apple Macintosh & Workstations" Please read this information before starting your review of your Vine Micros product. It provides a brief overview of the unit with some general marketing information that will enable you to have a clearer idea as to the positioning of our product in the marketplace. Use this together with Press Release information to provide a full background on the product. IMPORTANTShould you experience any difficulties or problems in using your Vine Micros' product, or require any further information please contact: Kyla Sackett Tel - 01843 873300 Fax - 01843 873301 E-mail kyla@vinemicros.com The CORIOscan Pro represents the first in the range of high quality desktop video peripherals in the CORIO family. The CORIOscan Pro is a professional level Scan Convertor which connects to the VGA output of your PC, Apple Macintosh or Workstation. The computer display output is converted into a video signal which can then be displayed on a standard PAL or NTSC television, recorded on to video tape or even run through a video projector. The unit is equipped with a vast array of outputs including Composite Video, S-Video, RGB and YUV output. The CORIOscan Pro is a true scan convertor and, as such, requires no driver software to operate - the unit simply plugs into the monitor output of your PC and connects to your TV, Video or Video Projector via one of the many outputs from the CORIOscan Pro. The highest quality output is via the YUV output, with the quality slowly reducing via the RGB output, then the S-Video output, followed by the Composite Video signal. The difference in quality between these signals is not as a result of the unit, but of the signals themselves. As a Super-VHS video will produce a better picture than a standard VHS (composite) video, an S-Video signal will produce a better image than a Composite Video signal. The CORIOscan Pro unit can be controlled by various means. The front LCD display and buttons enable features such as AutoSet, Sizing & Positioning, Zoom and Pan to be easily accessed, together with advanced features for getting the optimum output from the unit. The CORIOscan Pro is also controlled via an infra-red remote control, which controls the main functions of the unit. It can also be controlled via your computer - from Windows - with the supplied software driver and RS232 serial connection. Using this method the remote control can be used as a mouse to directly access features of the software being displayed. CORIOscan Pro Features

Common uses of the CORIOscan Pro include outputting Business presentations to video for distribution to clients; displaying presentations and training programs on large screen televisions (for better visibility in meetings & seminars); simple video titling - by incorporating credits at the beginning and end of video films and presentations; for point of sale presentations in shops; for getting a large screen display from laptops; and even for playing games - where the large screen display and sound capabilities of the television enhance game play. Some of the more obscure uses of Scan Converters include its use with partially sighted people and in religious gatherings - where the size of the television display makes it easier for people to read the computer output; information distribution - where a computer display is entered into a video distribution system to keep staff up to date with latest information (particularly in sales rooms bank trading rooms and universities); and for Video Jockeying, especially in 'ambient' and 'Techno' clubs - where abstract computer animations are projected on to the walls of the club via a video projector. CORIOscan Pro MarketThe CORIOscan Pro has been developed for the professional and broadcast markets hence the need for two formats of the product (desktop and 19" rackmount). This scan convertor has been priced so as to fill the large price gap between professional units (which are priced at over £1000) and consumer/semi-professional units priced at under £400 (such as Vine Micros' DeltaScan). The desktop version of the CORIOscan Pro is ideal for the presentation and graphics professional who wants high quality video output and more control over the end result. The rackmount version of the CORIOscan Pro has been developed with studios and broadcast houses in mind as the enclosure is 1 unit in size (1U).
